Tropical Buffet is part of my "I want to go back to Playa Del Carmen Series" that has been a recurring theme in my recent still life painting. It is the warm tropical feel that these Plastic Space figurative abstracts project. One can almost feel the Spanish tile floor under your bare feet as you pick a morning fruit dish before heading out to the beach. Of course I like to place portions of masks into the background to add that richness of a cultural flair.
This painting was crafted to be used as a border print for licensing purposes. It was printed as a border print for exhibit at a Craft and Hobby Exhibition in Anaheim, California. It was featured in an office setting and looked great. This was just before the décor industry tanked and most large manufacturers were not venturing out to new ideas.
