Inspired by ONYXCON, a local Black Science Fiction convention exhibition, this painting of Prince has an otherworldly presentation. He was know for embracing the odd and these glasses are such an example. I took artistic license and overlaid the eye nebula and universe images into the lenses of the glasses and included another world background. I also added a lush purple brocade for his coat which helped to keep him in the foreground. I really enjoyed painting this portrait and flex my science fiction imagination.
