When I was in Hawaii, I got to see these flowers actually growing in the lush gardens around our hotel and there were many varieties of them. It was a wonderful trip with my mother who loved plants and taught me to love them too. The biggest thrill was to hang from one of the huge vines in the forest and give a Tarzan call. I was still kind of young then and silly but we had a blast.

I used watercolors, acrylic and ink on Arches watercolor paper and then tore the edges to get that relaxed look. These florals  look terrific mounted and framed in a large frame for drama effect.
