This painting is one of two female guitar players. It was inspired when I finished B.B. King and realized there were several female guitar players that did not get the high profile recognition that their male counterparts received. So I brought them recognition in my paintings. Deborah Coleman (October 3, 1956 – April 12, 2018) was an American blues musician. Coleman won the Orville Gibson Award for "Best Blues Guitarist, Female" in 2001, and was nominated for a W.C. Handy Blues Music Award nine times. The other female is Beverly (Guitar) Watkins who signed her painting which is now in the artists private collection.
