This is part of a floral series where I have used items from my culture to challenge the traditional still life and bring about something different. The vase has an Adinkra Sankofa meaning learn from the past. I used watercolors, acrylic and ink on Arches watercolor paper and then tore the edges to get that relaxed look. These florals  look terrific mounted and framed in a large frame for drama effect.
